Richard Bruce receives a "Special President's Award" for 2007 for outstanding contributions to the Public Relations, and other Committees.
The year 2011 is rapidly coming to an end and I know everyone is planning for
2012.
I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and are looking for a prosperous New
Year. I am sure that Santa is back in the North Pole getting a well deserved rest
after his long trip.
I hope everyone that attended the 2011 NTHECC Fall Meeting, our 5oth Anniversary,
had a good time and enjoyed the meeting and the facilities in Norfolk, VA. I
know that is a great place to have conventions and the Mayor and Police Chief sent
us letters thanking us for visiting their town.
It was a great meeting and everything went well with the guidance of Mr. Richard
Bruce, the Membership Meeting Committee Chair and his committee members.
I know Richard is a very humble individual and does not expect a slap on the back
for doing a good job but he definitely deserves the recognition. When you all see
Richard at the upcoming Spring Meeting, please take the time to thank him for doing
such a fine job.
I also want to thank all of the other committee’s for their hard work and the membership
for supporting this organization.
I don’t have the numbers in front of me but I think we may have broken some records
at this meeting. I believe we had the highest attendance at this meeting and
Mike Kinder set a new record on the sponsors. I am sure Mike will have those
numbers at the upcoming Spring meeting.
For those of you that were unable to attend for one reason or another, we missed
you and you did miss a great meeting.
We will soon be preparing for the upcoming Spring Meeting and I hope everyone
can attend. I know I look forward to seeing you in Dallas and always enjoy going
into that area.
I hope all of you have great plans for the upcoming 2012 and I do hope and pray
that the economy will start turning around so everyone will have all the work they
want and need.
Take care - be safe and remember the secrets to staying young, being happy, and
achieving success. You have to laugh and find humor every day and you have got
to have a dream. When you lose your dreams, you die.
HAPPY NEW YEAR,
Bill Fisher - NTHECC President
The National Truck & Heavy Equipment Claims Council is a non-profit professional association of insurance companies and claims adjusters who specialize in physical damage insurance claims for heavy trucks and equipment.
The Council was organized in 1961 by the efforts of a few heavy truck claim adjusters and insurance companies who agreed there was a lack of qualified adjusters working only heavy truck claims. The founders focused on forming an organization of full-time heavy truck and equipment claimsmen. Stringent membership restrictions were set for individual adjusters and insurance companies, and a cooperative association was established with truck manufacturers to maintain high standards of education. Today, the Council includes sixty-five claims adjusters, twenty-three allied and associate members, and nineteen insurance company members - including five of the nine founders.
The Council meets twice each year by invitation, on or about the first weekends in May and October. The spring business meeting is for members only. The fall annual meeting is open for guest attendance, and includes educational seminars and guest speakers. The National Truck & Heavy Equipment Claims Council is the only heavy-duty truck & equipment insurance claims association of its kind, and maintains a membership roster of the most skilled and qualified claimsmen in the industry.
